Looking at the field of entrants for the 1993 Royal Rumble match feels like a trip through nostalgia for those who witnessed the pay-per-view first hand. Genuine stars like 'Macho Man' Randy Savage, The Undertaker and Ric Flair were joined by assorted mid-card dorks like The Repo Man, 'Terrific' Terry Taylor and Damien Demento.

The story of the Rumble was the rise of Yokozuna, accompanied to ringside by the recently-deceased Mr. Fuji. In retrospect, Yoko was always going to come out on top, but fans in attendance at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California dared to believe that Randy Savage could headline WrestleMania once again.

In one of the most baffling Rumble moments ever, Savage managed to hit his patented Elbow Drop from the top rope. Then, he - for reasons never to be explained - went for a pinfall on his giant foe. This led to Yokozuna pressing Randy up onto his feet and then over the top rope to the floor.

Despite Savage's brilliance as a performer, this is one of those moments when a top babyface looks like a complete idiot. Still, at least it served the purpose of making Yokozuna look like a monster heel.
