10 Things You Learn From Watching 1995 On The WWE Network
8. The WWF Title Match Should Have Gone On Last At WrestleMania XI
Before getting into the meat of this entry, it's important to applaud both Bam Bam Bigelow and Lawrence Taylor for their efforts in the actual main event of WrestleMania XI. It cannot have been easy for Bigelow to lead the former NFL star through the match, even if Taylor did look well-prepared for the showdown.
Still, there's no way Bigelow vs. Taylor should have been the headliner on the card. 'Mania XI was indicative of where the WWF was at in the Spring months of 1995. It really seemed like Vince McMahon was throwing things at the nearest wall to see what might stick, without a clear game plan that would revolutionise the stale product.
Right before the celebrity-laden main event, Diesel and Shawn Michaels put on a show for the former's WWF Heavyweight Title. There's little doubt that this battle of former wrestler and bodyguard combination should have been placed last on the card.
As admirable as it was that McMahon was willing to try something different, retrospect makes it clear that the WWF Title bout deserved the sole spotlight.
