Today, Glenn Jacobs is firmly entrenched as a WWE legend. Performing as Kane, the man will no doubt be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame someday. It's almost impossible to envision either Jacobs or his company making reference to his time as Isaac Yankem D.D.S. It'd be understandable if that was missed out entirely from any induction speech.

Back in 1995, a full two years before he was ripping the door from Hell In A Cell and making a blistering debut, Jacobs was performing as an evil dentist. Aligned with Jerry 'The King' Lawler in storyline, Isaac Yankem's main foe was Bret Hart.

Debuting in June, Yankem would last almost a full year as a gimmick. Watching his match against Hart at SummerSlam makes for weird viewing though. Not only is it hard to take the character seriously, it's also bizarre to know what the wrestler would become as the years progressed.

An evil dentist is exactly the kind of jokey gimmick that was failing to thrill fans in 1995, solidifying the idea that the WWF was a promotion struggling to find a satisfying direction.
