10 Things You Learn From Watching 1995 On The WWE Network

4. Shawn Michaels Vs. Razor Ramon Saved SummerSlam From Ignominy

On a card headlined by the aforementioned Diesel vs. Mabel debacle, and underpinned by matches like Bret Hart vs. Isaac Yankem D.D.S, it was even more crucial that Razor Ramon vs. Shawn Michaels was a winner. A rematch from WrestleMania X in 1994, the SummerSlam 1995 battle was once again another Ladder Match classic between the pair.

'Mania X perhaps wins on the basis that it was a true original, though the success of the SummerSlam '95 redo should never be discounted. Working incredibly well together, Razor and Shawn were real-life friends behind the scenes. It was obvious that they had spoken at length about how they'd top what had come before.

Of the nine matches that happened at SummerSlam, the WWF Intercontinental Title war was the best. Take that bout away from the card and things would have looked much bleaker. In fact, had Ramon vs. Michaels not been a 25-minute clinic, the pay-per-view may be regarded as the worst SummerSlam in history up until that year.

Saving the show from being a disaster, the Ladder Match is must-see action on the WWE Network.
