Falling just shy of a full month after the infamous 'Montreal Screwjob' at the 1997 Survivor Series, In Your House: D-Generation X occurred on December 7. Of the 8 matches on the show, 4 finished by way of disqualification, a surefire sign that things were topsy turvy in terms of the creative team around this time.

Jeff Jarrett vs. The Undertaker, The New Age Outlaws vs. The Legion Of Doom, Shawn Michaels vs. Ken Shamrock and even a boxing exhibition between Marc Mero and Butterbean all finished with the DQ idea. Meanwhile, other bouts like The Rock vs. Steve Austin only lasted 5 minutes and a 'Boot Camp Match' between Triple H and Sgt. Slaughter felt interminable.

The Royal Rumble had kicked 1997 off in grand fashion with the biggest crowd of the entire year. Just over 6,000 fans filed into the Springfield Civic Center for In Your House: D-Generation X, a paltry amount considering the WWF had all that controversy (from Survivor Series) to play around with.

Naturally, things would improve over time. Nonetheless, D-Generation X was an incredibly shoddy way to close 1997.
