Despite the fact that the SummerSlam 1997 match was superior, Bret Hart vs. The Undertaker was still quite the encounter at One Night Only. Held on September 20, the UK-only pay-per-view was presented via SKY Box Office for customers on British soil. All things considered, it was a solid and enjoyable return to the UK for the promotion.

Not quite on the same scale as the mighty SummerSlam 1992, One Night Only was nonetheless a better card from an in-ring perspective. Back in '92, Hart and The British Bulldog had been joined by The Ultimate Warrior and Randy Savage in producing gold. In 1997, no less than 5 matches rocked the NEC in Birmingham, England.

'Taker vs. Bret Hart, Owen Hart vs. Vader, Triple H vs. Dude Love and The Legion Of Doom vs. The Godwinns (surprisingly) are all worthy of attention. Even with the disappointing finish of a heel win, Shawn Michaels vs. The British Bulldog for the WWF European Title also has some sparkling moments.

Flying under the radar, One Night Only may be easily dismissed as a glorified house show to some. That would be a mistake, it's a genuine hidden gem on the WWE Network.
