10 Things You Learn Re-Watching AEW Dynamite’s First Episode
2. Jon Moxley Had An Edge He Lacks Now
2019's 'Stone Cold in Japan' stylings of Jon Moxley could well return if his latest direction on AEW telly shakes out. It's probably best to reserve judgement on that until things develop. However, it isn't unfair to say that Mox's early run in All Elite was more dangerous than he'd be at any stage other than a few select moments here or there.
Nobody in the biz seemed more reckless or unpredictable. In a good way.
Jon ran in on the main event six-man tag to confront Kenny Omega then blast him through a glass coffee table in the VIP area. That took Omega out of the game, and was exactly the kind of shocking moment Dynamite's first episode needed to get people talking. Some in the crowd couldn't believe they were seeing glass on a national platform.
This spot also set the tone for more violence to come between both men. Without working a hold or officially being involved in the match, Moxley put himself forward as a true must-see character on AEW's new weekly show. Fans couldn't wait to see what he'd do next.
