Watch Raw today and you're likely to bemoan the lack of pyro and general ballyhoo the show had during the Attitude Era. There are no fireworks screaming as they explode on the entrance ramp, and even the program's theme song is generic American 'rawk'. You may be surprised then to learn that Raw's first theme captured the spirit of the show better than Shinedown do now.

It's cheesy, sounds like something played on a Casio keyboard and lacks that punch-in-the-gut riffing of Attitude, but Raw's original music has a distinct charm to it. Better than the theme itself, that alarm which played over the din of an excited crowd and Vince McMahon's intro to the show helped Raw feel alive, exciting and fresh.

WWE better bust out this old music for the 25th anniversary special. If nothing else, the portion broadcast from the old Manhattan Center needs to capture the feel of January 1993. We're talking old-school signage, ring girls and even those Ico Pro banners.

Well, maybe not those.
