10 Things You’ll Never See In WWE Again

7. A Show Without Authority Figures

Ever since the promotion struck gold with the Mr. McMahon character in 1998, WWE hasn't looked back to a time before omnipresent authority figures. Older characters like Jack Tunney and Sgt Slaughter were only used sparingly, but that formula has become a thing of the past. These days, it's like WWE has forgotten how to produce stories without kayfabe bosses.

Fans who have watched closely over the past 20 years must've looked at the McMahon family and Triple H late-last year and screamed, "No chance in hell" at their screens. The quartet claimed the days of overbearing authority was over, and they'd move on from such a crutch.

Obviously, they haven't. Shane McMahon is still running rampant across both Raw and SmackDown, and both Triple H and Vince play the power card whenever it suits them or fills some TV minutes.

WWE have relied on authority characters like Commissioners, General Managers and Presidents for so long that they'd struggle to explain why feuds or title matches are happening without some God-like gimmick to validate it.
