2. The 2008 Feud With Shawn Michaels Was Special

The best feud of Jericho's career took place in 2008 when he was involved in a storyline with the legendary Shawn Michaels. Jericho thinks it's one of the best feuds ever. I agree with him. It really was the kind of story that we wish we could see more often, but we also realize that it's hard to strike gold the way they did. Jericho noted that the original plan for the angle was to have one PPV match and end it there. Jericho had just turned heel after calling Michaels a hypocrite post WrestleMania 24 in 2008. It likely was going to lead to a match that Michaels won. Then that was it. Instead, they found a way to make it entertaining. When they went backstage, Jericho was apologizing to Shawn and Shawn was furious with him, but Rebecca smiled and said "is that all you got?" then they all laughed about it. Even though Jericho felt like he really hurt her, she was okay with it. Their feud culminated in a terrific Ladder Match for Jericho's World Title at No Mercy in October 2008. McMahon felt the feud warranted the World Title, so they took it off CM Punk and put it on Jericho in order to have that Ladder Match that was arguably the best match of Jericho's career.
