10 Things You Need To Know About Chris Jericho's New Book

3. His 2013 Royal Rumble Return Was The Favorite Moment Of His Career

The final chapter of the book (there are 47 in all) is called "Favorite Moment of My Career. It details Jericho's surprise return at the 2013 Royal Rumble in Phoenix. He was doing a signing in California and got a delayed flight to Phoenix, so when he got to the airport no fans were there. They were likely already at the arena. If he arrived three hours earlier then there would have been reports saying he was there. Instead, there were none. When Jericho found out he was going to be the second entrant in the Rumble match (Dolph Ziggler was first), he was ecstatic because he knew the crowd would be excited to see him. If he entered later in the match maybe they wouldn't have been as enthusiastic. It was a best case scenario for him. He was right. Jericho noted that the pop he got that night was as loud as any he had received in his career. He said that in 1999 when he debuted a lot of people figured it was him that was going to come out. The same thing happened in 2012 too. However, this time around they really had no idea and it wasn't out on the internet either. A lot of people backstage had no idea he was there until he walked to the ring. When he walked out and heard that ovation he was ecstatic. http://youtu.be/-wf41HYSnoA Here's how he explained it: "It was such a thrill to see the fans, MY fans, jump up on their feet and lose their minds when JERICHO flashed across the Tron. It was the loudest ovation I ever received in my twenty-two years of wrestling and could be the favorite moment of my career...something I'll never EEEVVVEEERRR forget." That's where the book ends. Watching that pop again, it's obvious why he feels that way. It really was a surprise and a genuine moment where the fans showed him just how much they appreciated him.
