10 Things You Need To Know About Chris Jericho's New Book

7. All Of His Catchphrases Have An Origin

The 4th chapter is titled "Ask Him" and it's all about Jericho's many catchphrases. He talked about how important it was for his career because it showed how creative he was. People remember his various phrases. He probably has the most of them in WWE history, or at least second only to The Rock. That's partly why they are two of the best talkers ever. It's that creativity that separates them. Jericho explains where all of the phrases come from. One of my favorites is when he yells "Shut The Hell Up." Where is it from? The film Happy Gilmore when Ben Stiller's character says it to the grandma of Adam Sandler's character in a nursing home. If you're wondering about "Ask Him," that's something Jericho does during a basic submission hold like a headlock because it's ridiculous that somebody would give up from a move like that. He said he got the idea from Jushin Liger in Japan. http://youtu.be/o77NwC2TLR8 Later in the book, Jericho also mentioned how much people talk to him about his "I'm from Winnipeg, you idiot" line that he said to a fan. It's not something he planned. It just happened and got picked up on television. He said that phrase plus "armbar" from his famous WCW promo are the two things people say to him the most. Many of his other phrases are explained too. You'll have to get the book to read them all.
