Omega and Ibushi wouldn't be rivals for long, eventually forming a tag team. The team would be called Golden Star Lovers, although that 'Star' was represented by an actual star as opposed to the word. The team experienced great success in DDT and New Japan, winning the KO-D Tag Team Championships twice and the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships on the one occasion.

Omega and Ibushi have fantastic chemistry, and it is clearly seen in their matches against each other and matches with each other. There is a whole lot of humour involved too, with the team's finishing move being stereo 450 splashes from the same turnbuckle known as the Golden Shower.

Despite how closely Ibushi and Omega have worked together, the entire thing still feels somewhat unfinished. Many were hoping that Ibushi would be the first challenger for Omega's newly-won IWGP Heavyweight Championship, but neither the title nor the challenge would be forthcoming.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
