The first ever Bad(d) Blood show was Bret Hart's penultimate WWF pay-per-view match before departing the company and joining WCW following the 1997 Survivor Series, but he wasn't the only one who was about to kiss goodbye to a long-established role in the promotion.

Sitting alongside Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross to narrate the action fans would see at home, then-babyface announcer Vince McMahon was working his last ever pay-per-view broadcast as a fully-fledged commentator.

Infamously conspiring to take the WWF Title from Hart the following month, McMahon subsequently removed himself from the announce position and readied the brand new 'Mr. McMahon' heel character that would become red hot in early-1998.

Adding to the list of reasons why the first event in the Bad Blood timeline is so important to WWE history, the fact that McMahon announced his last ever full pay-per-view during the 1997 show feels weighty to look back on even now.
