10 Things You Need To Know About WWE Bad Blood

2. Dave Meltzer Gave WWE His Last 5-Star Rating For Almost 14 Years In 1997

The Wrestling Observer hasn't handed out ***** match ratings on a regular basis to the WWF/WWE; notoriously demanding when analysing a match, the Observer's Dave Meltzer takes into account everything from work rate and crowd response to the bout's finish and even the storyline leading up to it.

At In Your House: Bad Blood in October, 1997 though, an impressed Meltzer watched in awe as Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker worked wonders with the first ever Hell In A Cell match. Slapping the vaunted ***** rating on that main event, The Wrestling Observer's leader wouldn't be so generous to a WWF/WWE match for close to 14 years afterwards.

Not until John Cena and CM Punk tore the house down at Money In The Bank 2011 did Meltzer break out the ***** treatment for the company again; this means that Badd Blood remains the only In Your House match in WWE history to be rated so highly by the Observer.

If nothing else, this should tell newer fans one thing: fire up the WWE Network and watch as Michaels and 'Taker produce a quite brilliant display inside the Cell.
