10 Times AEW Took Advantage Of WWE Ignoring The Fans

1. Finishes

Roman Reigns, CM Punk
AEW / Lee South

Above all wrestlers signed, all feuds improved upon or every victory gained over NXT during a one-sided ratings war, AEW's biggest strike against WWE's ineptitudes can be found when double checking exactly how many disqualification/count-outs have been delivered in over two years of broadcasting weekly shows and quarterly pay-per-views.

As of this writing in November 2021, there have only been three planned and executed finishes that didn't end in pinfall, submission or stipulation-led conclusion. And all of these rule:

- Peter Avalon and Brandon Cutler worked a feud specifically for AEW Dark in which neither man could win. A reverse rankings battle, both found themselves bottom of the pile following one double disqualification and one double count-out that fittingly resulted in a match that had to end with winner.

- When Kenny Omega defeated PAC in a 30 minute Iron Man Match in February 2020, PAC gave up a fall by disqualification to win one back.

And that's it. Referees are sometimes required to do a lot of looking the other way, but AEW's re-establishing of wins, losses and actual conclusions has predictably done wonders for getting almost all of its roster over. Simplifying the ludicrously over-complicated, the company simply spotted the obvious flaws in doing things one way, and took the complete opposite approach.
