WrestleMania 29 marked Brock Lesnars first appearance at the event in nine years. He was feuding with Triple H, and on top of having a No Holds Barred match, there was an additional stipulation that Triple Hs career was on the line. While that stipulation there mightve been an indication that HHH would win for some fans, for many others, it was still a big surprise to see Brock Lesnar lose at his first WrestleMania since his infamous match with Goldberg. Though it was a dramatic and exciting match, there were still quite a few fans who thought Lesnar was going to win. They presumed that Triple H had no reason to still be on TV anymore, and this loss would allow him to transition completely from in-ring Superstar to corporate executive. Moreover, it wouldve been a great opportunity for Lesnar to redeem himself after his first match after his return didnt live up to expectations (more on that later). To say that some fans were expecting, or even hoping, that Lesnar would win would be an understatement. But once again, they were treated to a big surprise, as Triple H proved that even as he became a bona fide part-time wrestler, he could still perform on the biggest stage of them all without missing a beat.
