Curt Hennig's 'Mr. Perfect' gimmick did exactly what it said on the tin. Billed as a 'perfect' wrestler and a 'perfect' athlete. Mr. Perfect even had a perfect theme tune. Pompous and gladiatorial, the bombastic fanfare set a stage fit for the entrance of a Roman god. Oddly, the piece was also perfect for depicting Moses leading the Jews out of Israel; Hennig's new music was based on the theme of the 1960 movie Exodus, composed by Ernest Gold. Curt actually used Gold's original version as his first theme tune for a blink-and-you'll-miss-it TV taping in September 1989, before switching to the more familiar Jim Johnston variant. Most curiously, WCW tried to rip-off the Mr. Perfect gimmick in 2000 with the less-than-perfect Shawn Stasiak. Stasiak was given a Jimmy Hart version of Johnston's riff - itself the 'Jimmy Hart version' of Ernest Gold's classic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBOZQGa5nbQ
Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know).
He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
