Anyone who knows anything about The Fabulous Moolah will tell you two things.

She was obviously one of the pioneers of Women's wrestling, but she also had a notorious history of financial and sexual exploitation.

Over time, many of the women wrestlers who were financially indebted to Moolah (who went by Mary Lillian Ellison outside of the ring) came out to tell their side of the story, with many claiming that the four time WWF Women's Champion controlled the lives of the students she took money from to train at her school.

Couple this with her insidious pimping out of women stars to wrestling promoters, so that they could be used as sexual objects for their male clients and you can see why fans were quick to call out WWE for dedicating their maiden WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal to Moolah at 'Mania 34.

Fans were rightly having none of it and whereas in another time WWE may have continued arrogantly on their planned trajectory, in this instance a sizeable nudge from one of the show's primary sponsors, Snickers, was enough for the match to be simply relabelled as the WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal.
