10 Times Daniel Bryan Defied The Odds In WWE

1. Battle Against The Authority

Bryan's final overcoming of the odds would be his biggest. In a storyline that spanned months, he repeatedly clashed heads with The Authority, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, the on-screen and real-life power behind the throne of Vincent Kennedy McMahon. It was a story that mimicked real life. The on-screen bad guys were declaring that Bryan was not fit to be the face of the company while reports suggested that the same thoughts boiled behind the scenes. As we've seen throughout his career, Vince doesn't get Daniel Bryan. Yet, the fans did, and they were not willing to give up. Every week they seemed to hijack Raw with "yes" chants for their favourite star. Meanwhile, we consistently saw him being screwed out of the title, something which came to a head at the Royal Rumble where Bryan wasn't even entered into the contest. Due to a combination of Bryan's talent and the fans pig-headed determination, they slowly turned the tide, and he was given his chance. Beat Triple H at WrestleMania and he would be entered into a Triple Threat for the World Title against Randy Orton and Batista. Bryan went on to pin The Game and (in one of the great WrestleMania moments) win the title. If nothing else in his career is remembered, it will be the moment he raised his arms as that show ended. A life's work achieved, the final odd overcome.
