10 Times ECW Went Way Too Far

1. The Mass Transit Incident

At an ECW live event in November 1996, Axl Rotten was not there as scheduled for his tag team match with D-Von Dudley against New Jack and Mustafa Saed. An untrained seventeen year old named Erick Kulas convinced Paul Heyman that he was a wrestler trained by Killer Kowalski, and he wrestled under the disgruntled bus-driver gimmick "Mass Transit". Kulas looked much older than his seventeen years as he was over 350lbs and nearly six foot tall, and he was vouched for by a wrestler that Heyman knew. During the match, New Jack bladed Kulas and The Gangstas began to beat him down, leading his father to shout "Ring the fucking bell. He's 17!" at which point medics intervened to take care of Kulas while New Jack continued to play up to the crowd.
I don't care if the motherfucker dies! He's white. I don't like white people. I don't like people from Boston. I'm the wrong nigger to fuck with.
In the subsequent civil trial, many wrestlers came to New Jack's defense and stated that Kulas had given him permission to perform the bladejob. A camcorder recording of the incident reveals New Jack asking Kulas "You alright?" which reinforced New Jack's defense that he wasn't actively out to injure the teen. A jury acquitted New Jack of all charges in the criminal court, and all he was ruled as not liable in the civil case against him. Everyone was at fault here. Heyman should absolutely not have booked he had no knowledge of, regardless of his age. Kulas should never have stepped foot into a wrestling ring without any training, and New Jack should not have agreed to blade someone he didn't know. The entire incident is the worst thing to ever happen in ECW, and a serious black spot on the company's legacy. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xu5dq_ecw-mass-transit-incident-full-matc_sport
