Watching the introduction to WrestleMania VI makes it clear that Vince McMahon was excited about seeing Hulk Hogan face The Ultimate Warrior.

Never before in the history of the grand event had a pair of top babyfaces met in the headline slot, this was new territory for McMahon and the then-WWF.

Spewing hyperbole left, right and centre, the company owner stated that Hogan and Warrior were the 'two most powerful forces in the galaxy'. It was entertaining stuff, and the match followed suit by being a game of one-upmanship between the WWF Heavyweight and Intercontinental Champions.

The early moments of the bout followed a slow, yet enjoyable pattern. One man would gain the upper hand on the other, then the situation was reversed just seconds later. On commentary, Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse 'The Body' Ventura said they had never seen such an even match before.

In the end, Warrior would win, snatching both titles in the process. It was supposed to be the dawn of a new era for the promotion, but it wasn't too long until Hogan was back in the hot seat.
