10 TIMES John Cena Buried The Miz

1. Beastly

As per usual, The Miz needed time away from John Cena to regain credibility he'd yet again had wrung out of him in their programme, but the Intercontinental Champion wasn't immune from one more verbal pasting in the build-up to their respective returns to the Elimination Chamber in early 2018.

Free agent Cena was busy weighing up his opponents and chances in the match, and couldn't resist the urge to literally laugh off The Miz' chances against Brock Lesnar should the 'A Lister' have walked away from the eponymous attraction as the victor. Whilst his foe planted seeds to position himself (absurdly, admittedly) as equal to 'The Beast', Cena took a chainsaw to the sprouting branches before they'd even grown.

"[Lesnar] could miss his flight. He could get food poisoning. He could get frozen in a block of ice".

They were cute putdowns of The Miz' chances against the Universal Champion, but they were horrifically counter-productive. Cena infamously suffered these sorts of indignities during their 2006 WrestleMania back-and-forths. He knows they don't work as ways of selling a match, not least on someone as tenured and begrudgingly respected as the Intercontinental Champion.

As always. As long as The Miz has a job, Cena will be there to ensure he'll be doing one too.
