10 TIMES John Cena Buried The Miz

2. Match Made In Heaven/Match Made In Hell

The Miz John Cena
WWE

At WrestleMania 34, John Cena finally proposed to longtime partner Nikki Bella in front of the capacity crowd and watching world - as had been presumed and predicted for weeks by everybody other than the tearful twin.

It was the most telegraphed set piece on the entire show, yet apparently required the systematic squash of the company's most consistent full-timer in order for the duo to reach a 'compromise to a permanent end'.

WWE already weren't getting the narrative they'd surely have been assured with literally any other performer on the roster against the innately detestable Miz. Cena's reality-laden promos had inadvertently shone a light on his spectacular workrate in and out of the ring over the last decade, with the WrestleMania crowd most appreciative of his remarkable staying power under the thumb of the oppressive 'Champ'.

The boos for Cena didn't divert from the norm, but the rapturous applause for Miz and Maryse absolutely did. The net result of them being squashed like grapes in the proverbial fruit fight was just a diminished return when they had to spend two more weeks cosplaying as their vapid foes.
