Paul Heyman is without a doubt the greatest manager of the modern age. His promo work is untouchable, and you cant deny his success this year leading Brock Lesnar to victory of The Undertaker and John Cena, capturing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the process. The one thing hes not, and has never been, is a professional wrestler, yet men much bigger and stronger than him who are supposed to be good guys keep putting their hands on him. After John Cena lost his WWE World Heavyweight Championship to Brock Lesnar, he directed most of his anger towards Paul Heyman. He demanded Heyman produce Lesnar, and when The Beast didnt show up on the September 15th episode of Raw, Cena got physical. First, he said
I told you last week I was showing up for a fight, and Im either going to fight him or Im going to fight you
Then he dragged Heyman away in a headlock and locked him a room, saying that if Lesnar wasnt there by half-time, it was Heyman that would get the beating. This isnt really how the good-guy/bad-guy relationship is supposed to work, but WWE is a weird world where the bad guys are smart and work within the system, and the good guys are loud and just shout until they get what they want. Heyman poses no physical threat, and Cena just comes across as a bully shoving around someone who can't defend themselves.
