John Cena v Batista in 2010 was an odd rivalry in that it was the first time they really had a major feud, but it felt like it must have happened at least once, because theyd both been around nearly ten years. For the best part of those ten years, both men were babyfaces so any match between the two was built on that mutual respect all good guys have for each other. In 2010 though, Batista was undergoing a career renaissance as a heel, and the two finally clashed over the WWE Championship. After feuding for four months, Cena and Batista met for the final time at Over The Limit in an I Quit match for the WWE Championship. The two had a hellacious match that involved Batista passing out to the STF, and John Cena nearly getting ran over by a car that was on the stage to go with the Over The Limit theme. The climax of the match came when John Cena AAd Batista on the hood of the car, Batista didnt give up so Cena upped the ante. Cena carried Batista onto the roof of the car and threatened to AA him onto the stage. Batista quit, John Cena won the match and then threw him off the car through the stage anyway. Seeing a good guy take out a surrendering bad guy always seems a little vindictive and out of character. So much of Cena's character is about setting an example and being the bigger man, but often hes no better than his enemies.
