10 Times Long-Term WWE Booking Paid Off
6. Undertaker's Streak
Many have argued that the decision to have Brock Lesnar, and not a hungry young upstart, end Undertaker's fabled WrestleMania run was - on its own - evidence that WWE no longer has any interest in long-term booking. And that's a fair point.
But the streak itself, if not its abrupt end, was certainly a slow-burner. In fact, it was a full twenty-three years in the making, and whilst it's unlikely Vince McMahon earmarked a young Mark Calaway for three decades of service when he first signed him in 1990, there were opportunities to cash in much earlier.
They could instead, instead, have had 'Legend Killer' Randy Orton conquer 'Taker's legacy in 2005, or indeed, Edge three years later - but the moment meant so much more after the 'Deadman' had already seen off half the roster.
