Celebrities are almost always booed when they appear on WWE shows. It's probably a hangover from that time David Arquette became WCW World Heavyweight Champion for five minutes in 2000: we can just never trust them not to almost kill the entire industry.

That's why Ronda Rousey getting such a raucous ovation at WrestleMania 34 was so weird. Going into the event, it seemed like she might be swimming against the tide, with many traditionalists upset that the company would feature a non-wrestler so prominently.

Admittedly this situation was a little different from the likes of Arquette and Jeremy Piven. While Hollywood is a million miles removed from the world of pro-wrestling, MMA is more like a second or third cousin. There's plenty these two disciplines share in common.

But, even so, Rousey being one of the most over performers on the entire show was unexpected. If the UFC star now steamrolls her way through Charlotte and Asuka (and perhaps Brock Lesnar as well), we've only ourselves to blame for being so welcoming on night one.
