10 Times Really Weird S*it Happened At WrestleMania

1. WrestleMania IX

Live from Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, Nevada. Boy, did they take that theme and run with it!

Frankly, the entirety of WrestleMania IX deserves a spot on this list outright but most specifically it's the theme that takes the cake. Everything from the altered names of the on-screen personalities - such as Howard Finkel becoming Finkus Maximus - to the attires and the staging counts here. Particularly bizarre is the opening ceremony, featuring the introductions of "Julius Caesar" and "Cleopatra", Randy Savage's entrance being flanked by "virgins", and Bobby Heenan entering backwards on a camel before having his ass exposed.

The thing is, none of this, including Jim Ross in a toga, was actually that bad! It was a noble effort to bring some glitz and glamour to the dullest, least inspiring WrestleMania card in history. It was unfortunate though; as the old expression goes, you indeed cannot "polish a turd".
