In another superlative WrestleMania main event, Shawn Michaels proved his weight in gold against John Cena. Fans had long since tired of Cena's top line act, feeling he had been pushed down their throats somewhat over the past few years, so there was a lot more support for the legendary HBK than there was for his younger charge. Regardless, few can deny that Cena didn't live up to his end of the billing, helping produce a match that closed out 'Mania 23 brilliantly. John Cena's WWE Championship was on the line, and it was a belt he'd leave with, beating Michaels by submission. Earlier in this list, Kurt Angle had done the same to Shawn at WrestleMania, and it was losses such as these which showed a different side to the man.
