8. Bray Wyatt Vs. Kane - WWE SummerSlam 2013 (Ring Of Fire)

Though Bray Wyatt is slowly recovering from years' worth of horrendous booking decisions, his aura has been diminished to such an extent that it's difficult to recall just how much intrigue - and expectation - surrounded the man ahead of his main roster debut.

Wyatt was the most unique and absorbing character WWE had introduced in years - and, as a supernatural force, it was felt, optimistically, that WWE couldn't afford him the halfhearted, stop/start booking that had derailed many a career before him. Occult characters were traditionally pushed strongly. They had physical and mental advantages over their opponents, not adhering to such human concepts of form and confidence.

And yet, WWE contrived to humanise the Wyatt Family in a match structure which boggled the brain at SummerSlam 2016. What's ironic is that WWE had the formula they should have followed slap bang in front of their bloody eyes: Kane. Wyatt should have been positioned as a similarly unstoppable monster, but instead, he had to rely on his Family to help a man who had lost cleanly countless times by that point.

Even dafter than the outcome was the decision to cast Luke Harper and Erick Rowan as amateur firefighters. Before that night, they looked every bit the gigantic inbred monstrosities they were booked as. They looked like they could walk through fire; instead, they put it out with the aid of an extinguisher and fireproof matting.
