The Great Khali didn't have very many passable matches in World Wrestling Entertainment. In fact, I'd wager that Khali had a grand total of one decent match in the company, and lo and behold that bout came against a man who has suffered his fair share of bad mouthing over the years. John Cena has his fair share of critics, but the man managed to get a great match out of The Great frickin' Khali. That is a Hall of Fame achievement in itself.

It isn't going to win many technical points, that much is true. What it is however is Khali battering the ever-loving tar out of Cena for 10 minutes or so, before our hero rises up against the odds and delivers an AA to the massive Indian off of a truck for the win.

At times during the match it is easy to forget this is a Great Khali match. That isn't exactly true, as it isn't easy ignoring a huge monster man, but you know what I mean. Khali is widely regarded as one of the worst wrestlers to ever perform in WWE whose name wasn't Zeus or Giant Gonzalez, but this match against The Face That Runs The Place was the bout that saw everything come together for the man.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
