10 Times That Hulk Hogan Has Come Back From The Brink
6. Failed Movie Career
Whereas The Rock has transitioned effortlessly to becoming one of the most popular movie stars in the world, he wasn’t the first wrestler to try his hand at a film career.
Roddy Piper managed to get some mild success in the late 1980s with the likes of They Live and Hell Comes to Frogtown, but Hulk Hogan, the biggest name of the day, attempted to make the move to movies but ended up failing miserably.
Sure, Hogan’s small role in Rocky III was well received and helped brought eyes to the Hulkster, but the likes of Suburban Commando, Mr. Nanny, Santa with Muscles, 3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain and even this own TV show, Thunder in Paradise, were all panned.
At various times throughout his career, Hulk Hogan tried to make the big step away from wrestling into the movies, yet he’d always fail time and time again.
Regardless of his attempts to move away from the business, the wrestling world would always welcome Hogan back with open arms each time one of his movies flopped.
