10 Times The Main Event Was The Worst Match On A WWE Show

8. Undertaker Vs Sycho Sid (WrestleMania XIII)

No performer is more synonymous with WrestleMania than The Undertaker, but it’s easy to forget that his first several showings at the show of shows were far from barnburners.

It’s rarely the Phenom’s fault: before Michaels, HHH, Edge, and Punk, he was lumbered with the likes of Sycho Sid, who (as we’ll see) had no business main-eventing ‘Mania.

Admittedly, WrestleMania XIII is the epitome of a one-match show, with everything bar the Austin/Bret Hart classic skippable. Most of the rest of the card had the good grace to keep things brief, though.

‘Taker and Sid shuffle their way through over 20 minutes of tedium. Still in his zombie phase, there’s only so much personality the Deadman can inject into proceedings, and Sid’s certainly not going to help him.

The match ends with the right result, Undertaker deservedly going over, and if rumours are to be believed, Sid lost control of his bowels mid-tombstone, which is certainly a laugh. All the same, this was a limp and lifeless way to end a WrestleMania that had peaked two matches earlier.
