10 Times TNA Blatantly Ripped Off WWE

8. Abyss And His Father

Abyss Father Masked monster heel? Check! Creepy evil manager? Check! Undead half brother? Check! No I'm not talking about Kane! Kane Taker Between 2005 and 2007 Abyss was managed by the frankly awesome Father James Mitchell, (the former Sinister Minister). The pair were inevitably compared to Kane and Paul Bearer, though there were notable differences. The two weren't related, and Abyss' history saw him doing jail time to protect his mother who shot his abusive father in the back three times, putting him in a coma. Hey, at least it was original. Then came the revelation (one year after we had heard the tale about the shooting) that Chris Park's father was actually James Mitchell. Mitchell had been using Abyss to do his bidding for years and after Abyss turned face, Mitchell sought to destroy him with his newest monster: Abyss' half brother Judas Mesias. Now El Mesias was, and still is one of the top stars in Mexico, but his venture into TNA was less than eventful. Abyss managed to defeat the demonic beast in a pre-taped Barbed wire Massacre match at Aganist All Odds 2008. Abyss' back story was already established, albeit extremely silly, and TNA's decision to muddy the waters and shoehorn in a rehashed version of the Undertaker/Kane saga, soured most fans on TNA's resident monster. Now the only question is where the hell Joseph Park fitted into all that?

As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG. I may have a problem! But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
