10 Times Triple H Was RIDICULOUSLY Selfish At WWE WrestleMania

9. WrestleMania XXVII: Prologue

On the February 28, 2011 RAW, Triple H explained the motivation behind his challenge of the Undertaker's Streak the week prior.

"You and I are very much the same, 'Dead Man'. Actually, probably a lot more than you know. And when you look around that locker room in the back, 'Dead Man', I know you see the same thing I do. There are no challenges left, really. There is no big test in front of you."

Perhaps nobody in the back was worthy of the honour because Triple H had just said nobody in the back was worthy of the honour. He wasn't wrong - but it's wrestling. You pretend. You build. You create. Isn't that Triple H's new catchphrase? This burial of a roster was both logical and senseless - fitting, given the paradox that is the man who uttered those words. What's telling is that Triple H was mere months away from assuming the reins of developmental from John Laurinaitis in a power grab. Perhaps this was an indirect and damning assessment of the state Big Johnny had left things in.

Or perhaps Trips just had to get himself over by putting everybody under.
