10 Times Triple H Won WWE Matches He Should Have Lost

7. Vs Shawn Michaels (Armageddon 2002)

Outside of their genuinely gripping and evocative SummerSlam 2002 show-stealer, Triple H and Shawn Michaels' matches over the years had the distinct and musty air of two nearly-men being given far too much time to enjoy the smell of their own farts.

The pair never met a clock they didn't want to defy, but so rarely told stories worthy of the lengthy journey you'd be strapped into the back seat for. Such was the case at 2002's Armageddon, where a Three Stages Of Hell encounter restored order on Monday Night Raw after Michaels' 28-day stint with the strap.

Unlike others on this list, there were no petty politics at play. 'HBK's Survivor Series title win was a moment for the moment's sake inside Madison Square Garden. In 2002, he was back for a good time rather than a long one. Shame, then, that this match was the latter rather than the former.

Bloated and boring, the one saving grace would have come from Michaels putting somebody else over in losing the title. Instead, he did the honours for the guy who needed it the least.
