10 Times Vince McMahon Was Made Somebody's Bitch

9. CM Punk, Summer Of Punk 2011

When CM Punk re-signed with WWE in the Summer of 2011, the feeling must have been bittersweet for Vince McMahon. On one hand, his idea worked: sending Punk out with a live mic to close RAW resulted in an overnight success for the Straight Edge Superstar, transforming from WWE Superstar to pop-culture phenomenon that everyone was talking about. On the other hand, the small, tatted-up Indy darling was now set to receive a multi-year extension that would include numerous perks and benefits that were usually reserved for only the most choice of Vince McMahon selections. While the real-life Phil Brooks and McMahon were on much better terms than they had been before or after this time, the future WWE Champion had Vince McMahon right where he wanted him. Since reality was blended into fiction the details are unclear, but Punk received a number of items in his contract that likely made Vince incredibly frustrated. Knowing that he had to give this...punk...an even bigger piece of his pie, knowing that he didn't own Punk or his name in the way that he owned his other wrestlers (Punk retained rights to the C.M. Punk name while WWE was allowed to use CM Punk while he worked there) had to make Vince sick. For this short period of time during the Summer Of Punk (2011), Phil Brooks made Vince McMahon his bitch.
