Somewhere between Kurt Angle's transformation from comedy technician pretending to be Shawn Michaels to killer wrestling machine ready to salvage SmackDown's World Title from the abyss lies the infamously upsetting 2005 time-filler storyline with Booker T that somehow escalated from him attempting to break the 'Five Time WCW Champion's bones to completely breaking his spirit.

How? "Perverted bestiality sex" with T's wife Sharmell, of course. Oh it's true.

If that all feels like a bit of a leap in stakes, know that it played out on televisionlike one too. Within weeks, Angle was a maniacal pervert, moving from simulated combat to simulating rape. The Gold Medallist was dropping "gutter slut" into his dialogue (before unhelpfully adding that he "liked that"), and attempting to assault her in the backstage area before and after a match between the two.

Ahead of his career becoming defined by his portrayal of an insane sex offender, the arc was thankfully parked following Angle getting drafted to Raw. It's not one they've since resisted in the PG era highlight packages.
