10 Times WCW Was The CRAZIEST Promotion Ever

6. Scott Steiner’s Reign Of Tyranny

Nothing could stop Scott Steiner in 2000.

'Big Poppa Pump' was suspended (reportedly with full pay) for kicking lumps out of DDP backstage, but that was just the beginning of his tyranny. Scotty also brutally lambasted Ric Flair live on Nitro by calling him a "jealous old bastard", and he actively encouraged fans to switch channels.

That's not a lie. Steiner said everyone watching Nitro should change over to Raw and watch Steve Austin "because WCW sucks". Good lord. Something like that would never happen today. Picture it: Cody Rhodes lands on NXT to tell people that they should be watching AEW's rearranged Dynamite that Wednesday instead.

Witnessing Scott run riot over WCW programming was admittedly a hoot for fans though. 'Freakzilla' (what a nickname) did carry a sense of danger that made him one of the most watchable workers in the biz at the time. Well, watchable when he wasn't telling fans to watch something else!
