10 Times WCW Went Way Too Far

1. Oklahoma

The most appalling and insensitive thing WCW ever did, was the introduction of the character named Oklahoma. Played by former WWF and then-current WCW writer Ed Ferrara, Oklahoma was a bad Jim Ross impression that openly mocked him for his Bell's Palsy. Everything about Oklahoma stunk, and it was an awful, thinly veiled attempt for Russo and Ferrara to air their grievances about WWF on WCW Television. They took it even further when Oklahoma won the WCW Cruiserweight Championship, completely devaluing what had for a long time been WCW's most exciting and legitimate division. While Ross has since made amends with both Russo and Ferrara, even inviting them both separately onto his podcast, The Ross Report, many fans still see it as the lowest of the low when it comes to WCW. There was always going to be shots fired between the two companies, but for the most part it had always remained civil. Mocking a man for his disability was completely over the line, and turned many fans off the WCW product for good.
