10 Times Wrestlers Bled The Hard Way In The PG-Era

5. John Cena - RAW April 9, 2012

When Brock Lesnar returned to the WWE he was greeted with one of the biggest pops of the PG-Era. He had sights set on one man: Jonathan Aloysius Cena. Without saying a word, the Beast Incarnate dropped Cena with an F5. The following week, Cena came looking for retribution and received even worse punishment. Basically, when a wrestler who was already plenty scary before he left, returns after training how to beat people up for real, perhaps it's not the smartest thing to then slap that man. Brock decided 'No. Bad. Kill' and tackled Cena to the mat before landed a stiff blow directly to Leader of the Cenation's mouth. As you can see in the footage below, the punch lands hard and full, and Cena immediately recoils: https://youtu.be/lFsFEfEsdUo?t=240 As soon as the punch hits, Cena stops fighting back and with good reason. He's been cut open, and bad. It takes a swarm of wrestlers to pull the two men apart, and once they do we finally get a glimpse of Cena, entire mouth bloodied and bruising. The camera even zooms in on his mangled mush. A few years removed, the WWE had evidently realised what it could and could not get away with showing, and decided to milk this stark and shocking sight for all it was worth, featuring it in video packages for the upcoming Cena/Brock fight at Extreme Rules.
