10 Times Wrestlers Bled The Hard Way In The PG-Era

4. John Cena - Extreme Rules 2012

April 2012 was a really bad month to be John Cena's head. Shortly after making Cena legit bleed from a busted mouth on free TV, Lesnar realised that the PPV paying crowd needed a little something extra. How very considerate and how very terrifying of you, Mr Lesnar. While the punch to Cena's jaw perhaps could be played off as an accident, or habitual UFC stiffness taking over, when Lesnar mounts Cena in the opening blows of this contest, well, this just looks intentional. He performs brain surgery on the Doctor of Thuganomics. With his elbow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcIBA94t2VA Now I'm not sure why this happened. Perhaps WWE wanted Lesnar to push the boundaries after the last bloodying received such a big reaction. Perhaps Lesnar wanted to establish himself the most legitimate, dangerous man in the business by making Superman bleed. Whatever happened, the fans both in the arena and at home had no choice but to sit and watch open-mouthed as the blood flowed. The match was briefly stopped in an attempt to fix the damage, but Cena wore the red crown for the rest of the match. Arguably one of the least PG moments of the PG-Era.
