10 Times Wrestlers Called Out Their Own BS

1. Triple H

Triple H likes to play the room and be received as its Archbishop of Banterbury, its alma mater of decent patter.

It's quite amusing to note that Trips probably started those NXT TakeOver conference calls to bask in the critical acclaim, and didn't consider that the day might come when its reputation slides and he has to field questions about potential n*ncery.

He misread that room badly when speaking to the media in January of this year.

Talking up Edge and Paige's chances of returning to the ring, he said it was more important to him that they live long, healthy lives. "Edge has kids. Paige - maybe - she probably has some she doesn't know of".

This was doubly brutal: a cruel dose of slut-shaming made all the worse because Paige is unable to have children. Paige revealed her disappointment at his attempt to be one of the lads. "Even my boss jokes about me...no wonder you guys do too," she tweeted.

Paige has suffered significant mental distress as a result of her premature retirement and abusive public relationship. This was at best tactless on Triple H's part, but he did the right thing in the end. He apologised to Paige, admitted that the joke was "terrible," and all's well that ends well.

Except WWE tried to take Paige's additional income away when she can't earn much of a primary one.
