10 Times Wrestlers Hit Their Finisher In A TV Show
2. Charlotte Flair - Psych: The Movie
Before you all get excited, it’s a movie made for television, shown only on television, acting as a continuation of the story and characters from a long-running television show so it totally counts.
Psych: The Movie is a bit of an anomaly on this list, in that it’s a comedy that’s actually funny with a pro wrestler guest shot that’s actually worth the (free) price of admission (there was none. It was on television. For free).
Sporting a black eye from in ring action sometime in June 2017 around the shooting schedule of her part in the movie, Ashley ‘Charlotte Flair’ Fliehr - literally billed in the credits as ‘WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair’ - plays sadistic henchperson Heather Rockrear. That is to say, her character is unnamed and the two childlike, bickering protagonists of Psych, Shawn and Gus, have nicknamed her Heather Rockrear.
Sparing you all the nonsensical details of the story, all you really need to know is that Flair is surprisingly good in the role, making the most of her few lines and her single fight scene, where she gets to beat up veteran actors Corbin Bernsen and Kurt Fuller and apply the Figure Eight to what is almost certainly a stunt double for Bernsen.
She’s eventually taken down by no less than three chair shots - one to the head, although given the magic of television it’s unlikely they hurt as much as they do in the ring.
