10 Times Wrestlers Ignored Direct Orders

7. Daniel Puder & Kurt Angle

According to Bruce Prichard's 'Something To Wrestle With' podcast, Kurt Angle was under strict instructions on the 4 November 2004 SmackDown to keep things tight. The Olympian was working a bully-boy segment with some Tough Enough hopefuls when things went wrong, and Prichard claims both Kurt and Daniel Puder were to blame.

They went off script and extended the hazing segment.

Angle easily handled Chris Nawrocki before challenging one of the other rookies to try him. Nobody was supposed to volunteer, but Puder got into the ring and ended up locking on a submission that could've broken Kurt's arm had the referees not quickly counted a pin. The whole thing was a total disaster that made Angle look foolish.

Puder, who wasn't booked to do anything other than stand there that night, caught some heat for the incident, and Angle did too when he returned backstage. They'd deviated from the plan, ignored orders and made a mess of it.
