10 Times Wrestlers Lost Their Title Belts

Just getting this one out of the way because *technically* the belt wasn't actually lost but, my god, Stan Hansen's marbles were for a bit.

Way back in what is, affectionally and scientifically known as "The Day", Stan Hansen promised Giant Baba that he would tour All Japan as AWA Champion, and defend it in a number of shows over there. Verne Gagne, the man in charge of AWA at the time, gave Stan, Baba, and the plan his blessing. But then, prior to the tour, Hansen turned up for a title defence against Nick Bockwinkel and was told by Gagne that, in actual fact, he was going to be jobbing tonight and dropping the belt. Hansen was, understandably, furious.

His solution to this (after you'd assume a few minutes of very calm, rational and polite negotiations had failed) was to leave the arena with the belt in tow. He then flew to Japan with the title, completed the tour and defended it as planned, before coming back to the United States and... can't believe I'm going to say this... repeatedly running the belt over with his pick-up truck before posting it back to Gagne.
