10 Times Wrestlers Lost Their Title Belts

Chris Jericho joins a very impressive club.

If, for whatever reason, future generations ask me what my favourite ever week in professional wrestling was I will know precisely what to answer. I won't say the week the lads had in New York for WrestleMania ("yes Grandad, you've told us that you beat up Haku"), I won't say the week the lads had in Las Vegas ("yes Grandad, we know Hornswoggle taught you craps"), I will say... A LITTLE BIT OF THE BUBBLY!.

You see, between All Out, the incredible card it had, and the explosion of Chris Jericho as a living meme, there has been one unifying factor in it all. Y2J somehow managed to lose the AEW World Championship in a steakhouse mere hours after becoming its first ever holder. That, is an impressive feat.

He has since had it returned to his custody but not before it became one of the most entertaining talking points in pro wrestling history. The internet has been a wonderful place this week, and AEW themselves even smartly leaned into it all, but it has brought to mind all the other times wrestlers somehow managed to let this happen.
