10 Times Wrestlers Said Something That Bit Them On The Ass

2. Seth Rollins Says He'll Never Work Riddle

Seth Rollins attempted to make a stand, and fair f*cking play to the man.

Often cast as a "Stand Up For WWE" guy in certain circles, his rep as a bootlicker turned him heel and depicted him as a figure of scorn. He said a lot of things he felt he had to say, as WWE's top pushed star in 2019, and those things were delusional and counterproductive in the extreme. But he believed those things, and wasn't afraid to put them out there.

Weird and unpopular principles are still principles, and Rollins upheld another when refusing to work Matt Riddle for a long time.

It was a shocking story; it's a post-monopoly world, Vince McMahon can just tell anybody to eat a f*cking pin to anybody. But Rollins refused to work Riddle because his wife made the harebrained decision to body shame Becky Lynch on social media. It was a mean-spirited and politically idiotic thing to do, and Rollins used his stroke for a rare, good purpose. At Survivor Series 2020, at which both men were on opposite sides of a brand warfare elimination tag, Rollins walked into the ring, willingly took a fall, and walked back out.

Riddle subsequently apologised, and has subsequently worked Rollins.

Rollins made the mistake of never saying never, but few have had as good a reason to say it.
