10 Times Wrestlers Secretly LIED To The Locker Room

3. Vince Russo

Vince Russo's enemies list was fairly sizeable after just a year in the polluted and shark-infested waters of World Championship Wrestling, but none was bigger (or, as Russo might have suggested, bigger and balder and a son of a b*tch) than Hollywood Hulk Hogan.

Russo was a man with many faults, but a small positive that occasionally bubbled under the surface was his earnest willingness to get new and younger faces on television at all costs. It had been a fairly successful philosophy in WWE and would scan as a noble failure in the TNA post-scripts, but was an insurmountable task in WCW.

More complex obstacles than Hogan stood in Russo's path, but he targeted 'The Hulkster' to such an extent that he orchestrated the Bash At The Beach 2000 worked shoot just to get him out of the building then shoot on him for real. Hogan gave the nod to a nonsense win over Jeff Jarrett, but was infuriated by a promo by Russo he was unprepared to hear long after he'd left.

The scathing and unplanned verbal assault landed WCW and Russo in court. At least another one of his dafter deceptions didn't get him in legal bother...
